Yep! We’re back!! Half Term is over (hope it was a good one) and we’re now ready for another 5 weeks of hard work (!) and theatrical fun..!

The brilliant John Hinton managed to find some time in his crazy, mad world tour (no, seriously!) to come and share his knowledge of Norse Legends with us this week…

This Saturday we welcomed a new face to the theatrecenter team; Actress and Physical Performer Katie Grace Cooper who introduced the students to the art of Bouffant Clowning. Both groups learned about the three Bouffant ’types’ around which all characters are developed: The Innocent, The Sensual Devil and the Mischief Maker. They then explored how these ‘types’ can be applied to ordinary everyday characters with some incredibly effective results! In the group session we had four fabulous pieces of surreal Random Word Theatre; ‘Destiny’ (a satirical take on our obsession with TV talent shows), ‘Vacuum’ (a group of lazy flat mates get sucked into the hoover when they refuse to clean), ‘Annoying’ (a birdwatcher loses sight of a rare bird when disturbed by a fashion concious stranger) and ‘Down’ (a very clever piece of comedy from the boys featuring the magical properties of water)!
