This week both groups looked at Masks with Jo Chappell. We looked at the basic “rules” of mask work, how to wear a mask and how to inhabit it. We also looked at ways our bodies take on characteristics when we allow our usual centre of gravity to change and when we isoloate parts of our body. We discovered the importance of referring to the audience (“clocking” the audience) to highlight a reaction, and the absolute necessity to Face the Front all the time when wearing a mask. We hot seated our masked characters in the Senior Group and created several improvised scenarios.
Melody Roche lead the Joint Session where she looked at some spooky Halloween scenes, gearing up for the big fright night!
