Thursday, November 18th, 2010We were joined by actress, comedienne and queen of characters, Carol Kentish, who took both groups on an imaginary journey into the world of an assortment of weird and wonderful characters. Some mystical, some magical and some you’d probably recognise walking around Brighton! Both groups jumped in at the deep end and created some fabulous “beings”! Our joint session we recreated the arrival of Cleopatra, complete with our very own dance troupe, comedy musicians, sword happy guards and a quite fetching Elizabeth Taylor costume for Jo! Great fun had by all.

Last Week…
Tuesday, November 9th, 2010The uber talented Ryan Laight (make-up artist, animator, costume designer) delivered a fantastic documentary and film making session in which our junior group created a documentary on theatrecenter and what goes on during a day of TC: this included drama, dance, design. The Senior’s began work on a Zombie movie, as their film making session, and each took on a role of either actor, director, camera man, make-up. Filming took place in the school grounds and down the corridors – they looked at elements such as what makes a good shot and scene. In our joint session we started devising a piece of theatre based on well known Christmas tales…with a twist. The brief was to devise the piece with a clear start, middle and end; choose a genre for the piece and include an unexpected twist. The kids had a fantastic day and worked very hard to achieve a high standard of work; each one gave full effort and attention.
