The circus came to town this week in the form of ‘Mad Matt’ Blossom! He taught us how to walk a tight-wire (with some amazing successes!!) and developed our plate spinning, diabolo-ing, juggling and poi techniques! We also worked on some hoop and ball-passing skills! All this hard work resulted in some excellent performances including a ‘Big Ball Juggle’, ‘Circus! Circus!’ and an advert for ipod (it’s amazing what you can do whislt listening to one!) – which we filmed – on an iphone!!

There was a bit of a Halloween-y feel at theatrecenter this week as the excellent Ben Murray-Watson and ever popular James Pegg (both Actor & Directors) looked at the art of telling and performing Ghost stories. We looked at some extracts from A Christmas Carol and then went on to create some spooky scenes and soundscapes of our own!

The ever popular Jeff Baker (Stunt Man & Fight Director) from ‘Stunt Action Specialists’ was our guest tutor this week. We swashed our buckles with some superior sword fighting and practised our pugilistic skills with some hand to hand stage combat!
Jeff will be returning to us later in the term when he will continue working on the choreographed fights that we started on saturday!
